Lovely hosts.Good value compared to some of Oban's prices.I was travelling to the Isles the next day by car.My room was well equipped and very comfortable for the single night that I stayed. Very quiet situation in the hills around Oban although I did jump a mile when a train passed very close by: I didn't look at the map closely enough beforehand! However, I was unaware I would be sharing a room in the main residence which included a dog: I would have liked to have known this in advance even though it was well behaved and caused me no problem.

It states quite clearly on the website that we are a railway side property and also that we have a dog, which has no access to your room but just minds his own business on the front step of his home. I’m sorry you missed all this information at the time of booking, but it is all there for guests to see.

Really spoilt at Burnside, it felt like going home to your own bed after being away on holiday. Very comfortable bed had a great nights sleep, spotlessly clean, nice bug ensuite plenty of room, it’s the little touches, bathrobes,shower gel shampoo and conditioner, my wife also mentioned great hairdryer. Plenty tea coffee, biscuits and even crisps and porridge pots for morning if you wish. Doreen absolutely lovely and welcoming. I give Burnside 5 ⭐️

Stayed in large ensuite room. House is in peaceful setting above Oban. We received a warm welcome on arrival, room was spotlessly clean with 6ft wide bed .Only improvement in warm weather could be a fan as room was very hot overnight

The apartment exceeded our expectations. Very comfortable and stylishly furnished. Spacious , well equipped kitchen area and big shower room with copious hot water. We loved the wee extra touches, lots of herbal teas, books, and even a couple wee wrapped peppermint chocolates left for us on the pillows. The host was excellent at responding and communicating. The bed was very comfortable and we had a peaceful sleep pre our early morning ferry departure. Next time we would love to stay longer. Would definitely highly recommend

A spotlessly clean, well equipped “suite”. We didn’t really do it justice as we only stayed one night but there were many thoughtful touches, particularly the “wee dram” on arrival.Burnside is in a lovely quiet location with ample parking. Our hosts were friendly and helpful.

We were touring the highlands and stayed here for our stop in Oban. The room was great with everything that we needed, and what a fantastic location in a quiet area with easy access to the town. Our hosts were really helpful with local knowledge. Would recommend.

We were blessed with perfect weather which made our overnight stay just idyllic.The situation of Burnside house is good for a quiet night.The wee flat had everything and more for a comfortable stay, including a whisky before bed!The bed and bedding were very good quality and we both slept very well.I have mobility problems and the layout and the shower were excellent.The whole flat was spotless and modern.We have been to Oban many times but this excels and we will hopefully return.

Second visit just as good as the first. Very comfortable with lots of little touches that make you feel welcome - milk in the fridge, porridge pots for breakfast, and a whole lot more. Lovely surroundings and about 5 mins drive from the main street. We honestly wouldn't stay anywhere else in Oban as it would be unlikely there is anything better

Book 1 night stay after driving up from Derbyshire and getting the ferry to Isle of mull.its to far out of Oban the walk down is long and steep with very little in the way of pavements coming back is even worse.5am awaking and the early train nice not.£12 taxi there and back or pay for parking in Oban all extras.but the room was great unsure about the porridge and crisp foc or not

Thank you for your review. I think you would have been better paying the extra money and staying in the town centre. It is a 20 minute walk to the town centre and is a bit hilly on the way back. Not a problem with no pavements, I walk it every day. It is stated in the listing that we are a railway side property and the 5.30am train passes in seconds. I’m sorry you weren’t happy with the complimentary porridge and crisps, again pay the extra money and stay somewhere that gives you breakfast.

We were very pleased with this apartment. Every bit of this lovely place is styled beautifully by hosts. This place is big enough for two people in order to enjoy their stay. Would be better to arrive with your own whiacle or taxi as it will take a quite a long walk to the city centre after long day.We would definitely recommend this place.

If you are thinking about re-decorating your own house, hold back till you’ve seen Burnside.Doreen and David’s rental has absolutely everything you’ll need for a stay – the compact kitchen/diner, bedroom and spacious bathroom are uncluttered and tastefully decorated and furnished. I booked the the self contained guest suite for 3 nights. Lovely and relaxing stay. Easy to find with excellent directions from Doreen, no more than a few minutes drive from Oban. The suite was really well fitted out with lovely personal touches, it has a fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, fridge and washing machine. Breakfast bar to sit at, lovely comfortable couch, beautiful big shower room, comfortable bed. I had 3 lovely days there and have already booked another 5 for August. Parking right outside the door (your own private entrance). Lovely walks from the house. Doreen always on hand should you need any assistance.Highly recommend!
